Fitting coilovers is only half the job — setting them up (ride height, geometry, and ideally corner balance) is what turns a lowered GTI from a ruined-handling slammed car into a genuinely sharper one. Height without geometry chews tyres and can handle worse than stock. See Alignment Tyre Wear
