The Mk2 G60 uses a G-Lader scroll supercharger — a unique, rebuildable blower that is the heart of the car and its main maintenance item.
The G-Lader:
- It's a scroll ("snail") compressor with apex seals and bearings that wear. A neglected charger loses boost and can shed a seal into the engine.
- Service it — the charger needs periodic rebuilds (apex seals, bearings, displacer/drive belt) roughly every 50–60k miles. A rattling or boost-down G60 is due one.
Also: keep the toothed drive belt maintained, and watch oil and coolant temps — these run hot.
