The Mk3 GTI (early-to-mid 1990s) is the "forgotten" GTI — heavier and softer than the sacred Mk1/Mk2, and overshadowed by the later comeback cars — but that makes clean ones cheap and rising, and the VR6 version is a genuinely charismatic modern classic.
