The Mk7.5 (the 2017-on facelift of the Mk7) is the sweet spot of the modern GTI for a lot of buyers, and the differences from the pre-facelift Mk7 are worth knowing because a couple of them are mechanical, not just cosmetic. Both are MQB and share the EA888 Gen 3 core.
